My father really enjoyed it when I gave him humorous paintings or drawings, He loved to laugh.
This picture was drawn in the late 80s in California and drive by shootings were quite the topic on news channels. I thought thought it would be humorous to show their origins. At the time I think I was going for a Van Gogh treatment with the colored pencils strokes!

I was born in Corona, California in the mid 1950s. My father was a Marine Corp. aviator, so I lived in many different locations in the USA during my childhood, including Maryland, Colorado, Virginia, and North Carolina. My family eventually settled in Southern California. I studied art at Cal State Fullerton and continued my art education by taking college level classes in various graphics disciplines, including drawing, painting, cartooning, typography, 2D design, and graphic design. I worked as a senior graphic designer and art director for the mega-church Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, CA under the late Chuck Smith for nearly 40 years.
