My husband and I frequently travel as part of group tours, especially when we are going to a new location. Usually, we spend quite a bit of time on the bus, and while many of my fellow travelers use this time for napping, I entertain myself by sitting by the window with my camera trying to catch a good shot out the bus window. It's always a challenge as I have to keep adjusting my settings with the speed of the bus, but hope springs eternal and it's a good way to pass the time. Occasionally, I'm able to grab a lucky shot that escapes the delete button. Such was the case with this image shot from the bus window as we traveled from Swaziland to Johannesburg, South Africa. The sky was spectacular, and I was glad to get a simple composition that did not detract from the great clouds above. I liked the black and white version best with the single dark tree on the flat terrain.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
